Ways to seduce ecommerce customers

Monday, April 5th, 2010

The world of ecommerce is very competitive with thousands of online stores wanting to get a share of the pie. Knowing how to seduce the online customers into buying the products available takes a lot of resources both in the amount of money and time.

One way of doing so is through Live Chat. There will definitely be customers wanting some instant answers before buying and what better way to do it than through Live Chat? It also gives the site a sense of professionalism and not just another website that isn’t updated or taken care of.

In addition to that, a phone number can greatly boost the conversion rate of the website. Add an address and users will definitely think of the business as a well established business. These two assures the customer that if there is any problem in the future, they know where to contact.

Discounts! This single word explains so much. In the time where people are struggling to get the best possible prices, discounts are very sought after. Use them during a celebration or a change in season. The best time to do it is at the end or early of the month when people get their paychecks.

Should a business expand itself to a wider region?

Saturday, March 27th, 2010

Today, with the help of the Internet, it may not be necessary for a business to have multiple offices in different countries. Businesses today can operate from a single country and while handling operations in different countries with the help of agents and selected distributors in the particular country.

Surprisingly, not many businesses can do this successfully. If the business is selling generic products such as those in the grocery store, then it may not be necessary to expand the business to other countries. However, if the business sells specialty products such as those from a specific region, then it may be wise to expand this business to another country.

Usually, businesses that would want to sell products made from the home country can usually get help from the government so that they can establish a foothold in the other country with ease. These businesses can get loans from government-owned institutions that are established to help small to medium businesses (SMB) expand. In addition to that, advices can also be given by government personnel for this particular purpose.

Should the business wishes to expand to different regions, there will be quite a handful of factors that needs to be considered such as the ones mentioned below:

  • Import/Export License – This is a must so that the products can pass through the customs in both the exporting and the importing countries
  • Shipping Fee – Higher shipping fee means that the business may have to increase the selling price of the product but doing so will make the product less competitive.
  • Marketing – Without marketing, the public will not know about the existence of the product.

Proper assessment of these factors is essential so that these products will sell properly and make profit out of the sales at the other regions.
